Caitlin’s journey towards improving her health & body composition was marked by various challenges.
She lost her menstrual cycle, she had hormonal imbalances, chronic GI issues (constipation being the major one), she did excessive cardio, she was chronically stressed (high cortisol levels), malnourished (suffered from nutrient deficiencies), always tired, fatigued, sleep deprived, & would binge eat.
As her coach, I implemented three crucial strategies:
1) Nourish her body with quality foods to fill in the nutrient gaps.
2) Make her gradually eat more.
3) stopped her from overexercising & gave her the correct & right amount of training.
4) Strategic supplementation.
The positive outcomes of these interventions were substantial:
1) Caitlin experienced improvements in her hormones & metabolism, leading to optimal internal physiology. This, in turn, made it easier for her to lose fat & build muscle.
2) Her digestion improved. After years of being constipated, she is finally able to have regular bowel movements.
3) Her sleep quality improved.
4) Her energy levels increased, & her training performance & strength improved.
5) Her body underwent a huge transformation. She transitioned from a skinny/soft appearance to a more athletic, lean, & muscular physique. Chronic undereating.
6) She was no longer in a high cortisol fight or flight (fight) state. High cortisol tends to cause fat accumulation in the lower abs, thighs, & buttocks. By nourishing her body & providing the right training stimulus, & managing her stress, her cortisol levels decreased, which led to improvements in these areas.
6) Her relationship with food significantly improved as she learned to be more flexible & stopped restricting herself. This shift in her mindset allowed her to develop a healthier & more balanced approach to nutrition.
7) She adopted a more balanced, fit lifestyle. She became calmer, more level-headed, & less obsessive about her food & training. This change contributed to a reduction in cortisol levels, allowing her metabolic & hormonal processes to function optimally.
She is now thriving, loving life & her fitness journey.
